ABOUT ANDRE SOLARIS
Behind the decks since 1986, FUEL's founder, Andre Solaris has perfected his art of delivering quality music while sharing his party attitude with the crowd. Being exposed to various event types in the first half of his career and diving deep into the underground in the second sculpted a DJ with a great understanding of nightclub dynamics and crowd-pleasing tactics. Today, a regular DJ on the Chicago scene, host and resident of a number of radio mix-shows, event organizer, music producer and re-mixer, and relentless pursuer of the perfect party, Andre continues his journey fueled by his passion.
In the nineties, Andre played at numerous Chicago events and clubnights while successfully landing guest DJ spots on local FM and AM radio stations including WLUW 88.7 FM and Q101 FM's 'Sonic Boom'. In ninety-eight he has established a promotions group under the name 'Fuel' and for the last seven years he has been organizing and producing numerous, successful events around the city inviting guest DJs to play alongside him. The most visible became 'Departures' with 35 installments to date at various Chicago venues. The key elements of all productions have been superb sound, lighting, and visuals and an uncompromising quality of music. Andre Solaris is also in demand by other promoters in the Chicago club circuit such as Pure, KGBeats, and Spundae. He has been handed the task of opening the nights for the likes of Danny Howells, Jody Wisternoff, Meat Katie, Parks & Wilson, Sander Kleinenberg, Max Graham, John Debo, Steve Lawler, Sasha, Steve Porter, and others.
Between March 2001 and December 2002, until the station's change of format, Andre was the resident DJ and producer of his own mix-show 'Clubland Underground' on ENERGY 92.7&5 FM in Chicago. The weekly four hours have been solely dedicated to global progressive dance music featuring prog, tech, and tribal house, breaks, and techno. Between October 2002 and May of 2004 he hosted a 2 hour show called 'Fuel' every Saturday night on XM Satellite Radio / Channel 82 - The System, a U.S. nationwide radio network. As of May 2004, the show has been on Channel 80 'The Move' where Andre finds himself among a group of like-minded and very talented DJs that include Satoshi Tomiee, Hybrid, Danny Howells or D:Fuse.
Andre records over two hundred one-hour mix sets annually for this and other syndicated shows. As once a member of the prestigious Balance Promote Record Pool, with a membership of 40 top US jocks such as Danny Tenaglia and Sandra Collins, he introduces the best forthcoming tracks from around the world. He has been featured in number of publications, TV programs, and websites.
Releasing 18 mix cds to date and working on music and remix production takes care of Andre’s remaining spare time. Some productions include the remix of "Alabama Black Snake" by 8miles high vs. Kgbeats, 'Kwasna Przygoda' (Andre Solaris' Escaped Mix) by a Polish rock group O.N.A. and an original track named "Situated" produced with Hope Recordings' Nosmo of Grayarea, also a dj’ing partner. In March of 2004 an unofficial remix from Andre Solaris and Rich D went on its way to the Winter Music Conference.
